Team news update:
Well things are coming together nicely for the big Florida venture. We've already got the Merlin chassis in the shop getting a complete go-through, cleaning, and replacing any part that shows the slightest of abnormal wear. So far so good, as the Merlin never got a whole lot of laps on it this past season. Plus the thing is built like a phenom, so there shouldn't be anything to worry about with the chassis come time to hit the track in Daytona.


Engine wise, things are looking great! Our little engine explosion last time out was due to a broken circlip which took out part of the piston with it and did some damage to the cylinder, BUT, the W.R.E. engine master tells me that all is looking very good right now, and damage was not as bad as expected, so we should once again have a rocket of an engine to wrap up the '08 tour in Florida. We expect to have the engine back into the prep area and mounted on the kart by December 5th- which is the expected time we wanted everything wrapped up and packed up for the trip. Things are on schedule as hoped for,


With the W.R.E. team hitting more big tracks in the future we're going to go to a belt drive system starting at Daytona. This should really take some of the worry of tossing a chain out of the equation when we are running the big track races.
