Although we like to think that no race is as important as the next, throughout the course of the tour, W.R.E. competes at, attends, or hosts some pretty special events- many that have become yearly traditions for our family, fans, and friends.
CHILI BOWL - The biggest and craziest midget race in the world kicks off each years tour as we head down to Tulsa, Oklahoma for a weeks worth of partying and racing. Held at the huge Tulsa Expo Center, the Chili Bowl attracts over 200 entries and thousands of devoted fans to witness some intense racing on the indoor clay oval. This event has become a favorite of ours for over a decade, and sets the stage for the rest of our season.
DAYTONA PARTY - W.R.E.'s World Headquarters comes alive with Nascar devotees who attend this annual event over at our Rettler Farms locale.
There is always a great supply of frosty beverages and too much fried food to even fathom! We fill the shop and house with people and party it up Daytona style each February for the super bowl of stock car racing.
KNOXVILLE NATIONALS - Each year we pack up the hauler and head to the absolute most important sprint car race of the year- The Knoxville Nationals, held at the prestigious 1/2 mile track on the Marion County Fairgrounds. We've endured heat waves, tornados, down pours, and cold tempatures... all in one week during the month of August. It's the toughest and most bad-ass sprint car party of the year.
COOKOUT & CAMPOUT WEEKEND - Our Labor Day Weekend race weekend is the longest standing tradition for W.R.E. and each year it seems to get better. At least what we can remember when the weekend ends. We start out with beverages, games, and social activities before firing up the grills at Angell Park Speedway prior to the nights racing. Once inside, the party rolls on and some of us even make it till the end of the races. Back at "party central" we tear it up some more for as long as we can and rest easy- as it's a campout weekend and everyones invited to bring the travel trailers, motorhomes, tents or what have You and spend the night. It don't end there, as the next night it's off to Seymour, WI for the IRA Sprint Cars and another night of cooking, camping, and consuming. It's our way of winding down from a fun race season and tour while enjoying the company of family and friends. Come on along!
